This is a picture of part of the snareline of the Vanguard Cadets...feeder corps to the Santa Clara Vanguard "A" corps. Dude on the far right is the center snare...and looky to the left...a kick butt female snare! They were nice and clean in their playing.
Here's their Bass Line. You guys who wanna play bass on SSD's Line...take note of their mallet angles and their posture...
Girls can play too. Drum Corps have many talented female percussionists these days...Jomie..there's hope! hehehe..jk...you already show lots of talent! I'm proud of you. =)
...And here's the Tenor line...wish we had a couple sets of these drums for our drumline. I think we need some more prayers and another "miracle" on Ebay to get some of these...hehe.
Finally, here's a shot of the line practicing together. Santa Clara's always doing something different with their lines. First, the snares played "matched" grip a few years back... and now the snares are really going "traditional" on both their grip and the positioning of the drum! Vanguard's A corps drumline did really good last year and placed 2nd next to the Cadets of Bergen County...who by the way had a female in their snareline! ...well that's all for tonight...i'll try to post some more pictures tommorrow while i still have this trial xanga premium thing going on.
